Press Release
Development of DNA chips incorporating semiconductor circuit technology

A DNA chip that realizes both high detection sensitivity and miniaturization has been developed using CMOS (complementary type metallic oxide semiconductor) integrated circuit technology that is widely used in semiconductors. This, together with chips previously developed by Toshiba to assess communicable diseases and the side-effects of drugs, will facilitate development of chips capable of handling new test categories such as monitoring of the onset and progression of cancer and other serious diseases.
