Conservation of Biodiversity

Aware that its business activities have affected the ecosystem in various ways, Toshiba Group has identified conservation of biodiversity as an important issue, and is promoting biotope maintenance at its facilities in an effort to minimize adverse influences on the ecosystem.

Toshiba Group’s Definition of Biotope

Attracting migratory flying animals

We set up habitats and rest places for birds, dragonflies, butterflies and the like which pass through or live around our facilities. It does not matter whether the target is rare or a common species.

Conserving rare animals and plants outside their habitats

On site, we protect and breed rare animals and plants that are raised around our facilities before returning them to their original habitats.
