In the Toshiba Corporation Power Systems Company, each product operation and affiliated company are implementing Corporate Citizenship Activities as a member of their communities.
Toshiba concluded an agreement with Miyagi prefecture regarding forest improvement, and Tohoku branch implemented tree planting of 700 trees in part (20.49ha) of the prefectural forest in Ohira village of Miyagi prefecture on November 6th, 2010.
From the Power Systems Company, 28 employees and their families (12 people from Power systems department of Tohoku and 16 people from affiliated companies) participated in this activity. It was the first experience for most people, and we received comment from people such as "We felt fulfilled by making a small contribution to the mitigation of climate change."
We will make all kinds of effort to implement various activities by planning forest improvement activities such as tree thinning and pruning hook, forest observation and mushroom cultivation, etc. for the year up ahead.
