Adjustable Speed Pumped Storage Key Technologies |

| TOSHIBA succeeded, first in the world, in use of the double-fed adjustable speed pumped storage system for improvement of operability (AFC) and stability of electric system and pump-turbine efficiencies. The key technologies of the system are mainly cycloconverter or Gate Turn off Thyristor (GTO) inverter as AC excitation equipment, generator-motor with wound-type rotor and their total high response control system. |
