The world first double-fed adjustable speed pumped storage system has been completed by TOSHIBA on Unit No.2 in Yagisawa Power Station, Tokyo Electric Power Company, Japan, in December 1990. This is one of the epoch-making events in TOSHIBA hydro business.
Upon the successful operation of the said unit, construction of the subsequent adjustable speed units have been promoted in the electric power system in Japan because of main purpose of automatic frequency control (AFC) in their pumping mode. |
