In 1928, Toshiba manufactured its first turbine generator. In the 70-Plus years since, Toshiba has emerged as a leader in the technical development of power generation equipment. Toshiba manufactured the first direct hydrogen cooled generator in 1960 and first direct water cooled generator in 1965. The total capacity of turbine generators that Toshiba has manufactured exceeded 100,000 MW in 1997. In 2001, the world largest 60Hz 1,000 MW generator started commercial operation.
Toshiba's turbine generators are available in a variety of types to meet prime mover requirements in a wide range of applications encompassing fossil fuel power plants, combined cycle power plants, and geothermal power plants. The design, based on abundant experience, emphasize high efficiency, high quality, compactness, and easy maintenance. |
