Life Estimation & Maintenance of Generator Stator Coil Insulation |

General
The deterioration of generator stator coil insulation influences the life of generator. Operating temperature, operating voltage stress, thermal-cycle stress cause damage to the stator insulation. Therefore it is necessary for judgement of insulation deterioration to carry out a diagnostic test of the stator coil.
To evaluate the residual life from experience and the accumulated data, the following methods are employed:

Estimate Consumption of Life by "Operational History" and "Establishment of calculation method for residual break-down voltage" |

(2)Residual Life : |
Estimate Residual Life by "Consumed Life", "Establishment of calculation method for residual break- down voltage" and "Operation Pattern in the future". |
Further, Visual inspection and Diagnostic test are conducted to obtain more accurate residual life taken other factors such as moisture & foreign conductive matter into consideration.
From these results, preventive maintenance program will be prepared for generator.
