Since 1952, Toshiba has been the choice
of broadcasters around the world, thanks to a wide range
of broadcasting systems that today embraces transmitters,
digital broadcasting systems, studio systems and satellite
broadcasting systems. We know and understand the demands
of broadcasting, the demands you must meet, and would be
delighted to support you in designing and installing your
ideal broadcasting system.

A digital video processor
is employed in the video signal processing circuit
in the exciter to ensure highly accurate compensation.
|
 |
Digital audio and
video signals can be input to the exciter.
SMPTE259M is available as an interface for digital
video signals and AES/EBU as an interface for digital
audio signals (Option).
|
 |
A high degree of
frequency stability can be achieved by using synthesizer
(Option).
|
 |
A reinforced AGC
function keeps transmitter output power constant
at all times.
|
 |
Two types of amplifiers,
1200W and 600W (in sync peak value), are available.
Aural output power is 700W or 350W.
|
 |
No AVR (automatic
voltage regulator) is necessary for the transmitter
if source voltage fluctuations are within 15%.
|
 |
This transmitter
is equipped with a voltage transformer which enables
to use the transmitter under various power supply
voltages. In addition, this transmitter is equipped
with an isolation transformer which prevents lightning
surge voltage (Option).

The meter panel composed
of pushing switches, indication lamps and meters is
designed simply for
operators to easily check the operating data.
|
 |
Connection to a remote
control unit is designed to be simple. This transmitter
can be connected
with an external remote control unit (Option).
Remote control interface is of the floating relay contacts
from and to the transmitter.
|
 |
Instead of the meter
panel, you may select the color LCD display panel (Option).
This color LCD
display panel has the following characteristics:
| 1) |
The color LCD display panel adopts the indication
of color display, operated by the touch
panel on the display screen. |
| 2) |
A CPU (central processing unit) is incorporated
in the control circuit to keep monitoring the
operating conditions of the transmitter and shows
the data on the display screen. |
| 3) |
A sophisticated monitor function is incorporated
to display the present values of forward power,
reflected power, FET current, temperature*, and
cooling air pressure. |
| 4) |
Connection to a remote control unit is designed
to be simple.
An external remote control unit can be easily connected
under parallel interface conditions**. |
| 5) |
The operation data on the transmitter can be
recorded by using a personal computer. By connecting
an external personal computer to the transmitter
at the RS232C port, operation data can be recorded
and stored. |
| 6) |
The recorded operation data can be stored for
one year.
The transmitter operation data is automatically
collected at fixed times every day for the period
of
one year.
The operating conditions can be checked by analyzing
these collected data.
|
(Note)
* : The temperature monitoring function is an option.
**: Preparing the parallel interface for external
remote control is an option. |
|
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
The 2nd generation
high-power MOS FET (transistor) chips are employed.
|
 |
Each power amplifier
is paired with an independent power supply unit.
Should a power supply fails, the reduction of output
power is kept minimal, because only one power amplifier
is affected.
|
 |
This visual power
amplifier unit can also be used for aural section.
|
 |
If the control
circuit fails, the transmitter can be forcibly
started by manual control.
|
 |
The power amplifier
and power supply units can be replaced even while
the transmitter is in operation.
|
 |
Adequate protective
circuits are provided.
| 1) |
An isolator is used on the power amplifier
output to ensure stable operation against
full reflection from output. |
| 2) |
If the reflected power increases, the
transmitter is shut down to protect it from
abnormal load on the antenna system, etc. |
| 3) |
If the cooling system goes wrong, the
transmitter is shut down to protect the power
amplifiers from abnormal temperature. |
| 4) |
The power supply units have a protective
circuit, which provide protection from over-current
and over-voltage.
|
|
 |
The switching
type of power supply units are designed to be
compact and highly efficient.

The transmitter has an
option to accept an audio signal for multi-sound broadcasting
system such as two carrier multi-sound system, NICAM
and BTSC system.
|
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
The FET operating
current can be checked by the current meter including
the standard accessory (available for meter panel
type).
|
 |
Monitoring
instructions are shown on the display screen
(available in the color LCD display panel type).
|
 |
The FET operating
current of each PA is shown on the display screen,
for easy checking of operating conditions and early
detection of faults (available for color LCD display
panel type).
|
 |
Reliable operation
guaranteed in any weather conditions (at high altitude,
in subtropical and tropical areas, in cold regions,
in humid areas or in desert areas).
