Finger Shadow Sensing Input Function Enables Direct Selection |

Tokyo, Japan -- Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology Co., Ltd. (TMD*), the leading manufacturer of TFT LCD modules for mobile applications, today announced a low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFT LCD display prototype with finger shadow sensing input capability. This approach enables users to use their finger to directly touch the display surface to select icons or buttons and navigate through pages in the same manner as a conventional touch-screen approach. TMD will exhibit this new display in the Toshiba Corporation booth, #C38 of Hall 8 at CEATEC Japan 2005, October 4-8 in Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan. TMD will also exhibit the prototype in booth, #205, at FPD International 2005, October 19-21 in Pacifico Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. |
