Why I joined EBSS

At an SI vendor where I belonged to before, I was engaged in an add-on program development of E-Business Suite (EBS), and I had opportunity to work together with EBSS members. My impression of the EBSS members in the project was that each person had strong leadership skills and high technical skills. It made me want to work with them.

What I felt at that time was that even as a "SI vendors", in order to solve problems that Biz users faced, we had to learn their business process. As a "Consultant", I would like to understand the business more thoroughly and get to the core of business requirements, thus I chose EBSS. Moreover, I heard that many EBSS consultants were engaged in global projects, so I felt attracted to be able to broaden the scope of my work.

Current my tasks and important things as consultant

Although it was not long after I joined the company, I got a chance to participate in a system implementation project to "visualize" management indicators for Japan company, including overseas local subsidiary. Currently, we are in the stage to define the scope of the project. I have received advices from my seniors and I am engaged in the project while acquiring knowledge at a rapid pace in order to deal with not only SCM and Production areas that I have experienced, but also the other area dealing accounting data.

In the future, in order to identify issues faced by overseas local subsidiaries, we plan to go on a business trip to India where there is local subsidiary. We aim to solve those issues that can only be found there and as a result improve the efficiency of our clients' operations.

I joined an English training in the Philippines

When I joined the company, I felt nervous because my English skill was still quite low. However, right after I joined, I was assigned to study English in the Philippines for three weeks. In that place, I got about seven hours lectures a day and I was in an English-speaking environment where I had English conversations with classmates from other countries such as Taiwan and Thailand, even in the dormitories. So, I could use English in daily basis. As a result, I feel that by the time I returned to Japan, I improved my skill and I could even laugh at the jokes of the local people. In the future, I plan to actively participate in global projects and build up my English conversation skill.

(On weekends, I went to Cebu Island for having fun with my friends from the same school.)
