IT consultant working closely with the business

I have experience working at multiple companies, where I have been involved in everything from building groupware to developing enterprise systems, as well as detailed and basic design. As I gained experience in the IT industry, I began to want to work closer to users, so I moved to EBSS, a company that provides consulting services.

I have been with EBSS for over 10 years, and have supported many projects, mainly in the accounting field, in proposing, planning, and implementing enterprise systems using ERP packages. I have provided support in the role of "IT consultant," including project leader, cross-function, and function consultant.

Recently, I have been expanding my scope of activities to include supporting project management and business improvement.

A consultant who is a good listener and can accurately grasp the problem, and a consultant who is a good talker and can propose the best solution

What I strive to do is to solve my customers' problems as a "good listener" consultant who accurately grasps the problem, and to provide "good speaking" consulting that proposes the best solution.

When I joined our company, my superior told me that the foundation of consulting is to be a "good listener". I believe that being a "good listener" is the starting point for consulting.

Many problems occur in the field of "IT consultants" who implement systems. Gaps between the business and the ERP package, defects in additionally developed programs, and problems with data integration across domains occur. Even if you reach the point of full operation, confusion occurs when you carry out business using a new system.

Solving these problems requires many skills, such as knowledge of the ERP package, the ability to understand requirements and problems and logically analyze the causes, presentation skills to consider and explain solutions, the ability to promote problem solving across domains, and business knowledge to solve problems.

In order to implement effective problem solving, you must be a "good listener" who can talk to users and accurately understand what they are struggling with.

Once we understand the problem, we analyze the root cause and connect it to "good talkers" who can consider and propose solutions, thereby effectively promoting the project.

This means a lot of communication with clients, and by gaining their trust, we are able to bring the project closer to success.

Supporting business innovation, business improvement, and system implementation.
