Supporting mainly infrastructure projects
In my previous job, I had supported an implementation of Oracle products (mainly database), and had been the technical support of the products. Those were mostly short-term jobs, so there were opportunities to communicate with various customers. As the technical support, I had tackled various issues from the technical question to the emergency trouble. Those experiences help my current consulting works.
When joining EBSS, I had engaged mainly the infrastructure of Oracle EBS. But currently not only Oracle EBS but also the operation implementation support of other products, and PMO support of IS infrastructure are my scope.
Aiming a consulting to be trusted
Not to mention accumulating technical knowledge and gathering latest information in order to handle any type of projects, firstly I have been keeping in mind to establish the trust relationship with the customers and the project member.
When the schedule delayed or the trouble happened, there are large difference of the recovery result between under the trusted relation or not on the customer and the project member.
On the project that I engaged, an unexpected system issue happened and there was no way to resolve the issue that nobody knew the cause. But all project member on the site investigated it separately, and finally we made a bet, and resolved it. It was because our project team made one-team with trust through working together all night for several days.
Perform in a limited period of time
In most of projects, the many project member is released or joined in the middle. So you are required to perform in a limited period of time.
I believe that contributing to the projects by utilizing experiences and communication skills that I have gained so far will lead to good results. In addition, EBSS has many experienced consultants in each area, so I think that we can provide better support by collaborating with them.
In future, a working style will change and remote support will increase. The South American project I was involved in before was divided into three bases, local, Japan and India, and we responded with local and remote support. Given the three hurdles of time difference, location, and language, I had a lot of trouble communicating while considering the local culture, but I would like to make use of the experience I gained there for future remote support.
